I mean, we know our THC is in Orlando. Is that why folks are willing to stand in line to take a tour of tiny houses? Because they're used to it with all the theme parks? LOL We were just as surprised as anyone with this month's turn out.
In this, our third open house in as many months, we thought we'd have it easy. June's open house had over 130 people. Some folks waited patiently in line (thank you) for over 30 minutes. We were slammed! We didn't finish until 4:30pm. So, for this month, we thought we had peaked. Wrong. Over 70 folks attended last week's open house at Orlando Lakefront.
So many folks have told us that we have inspired them to begin building their THOWs and make the leap to go tiny. They've told us that the primary reason why they haven't committed to tiny living is that they didn't know where to park their THOW legally. Now that future tiny housers know they can park and live at Orlando Lakefront, they are giving the go to their builders, or starting their own builds. Four sets of folks have said that they plan to move into Orlando Lakefront within the year. They want to make sure that they get a lakefront lot!
A big shout out to Marissa and Wendy, who live in the little blue house, one of the park's tiny houses in foundations. They were out in the heat for the entire three plus hours, managing traffic flow and parking Thanks, guys, for doing an excellent job, both in parking and answering folks' questions about living tiny at the park. We appreciate all that you did that day; we couldn't have done it without you!
We're taking the month of August off. No open house. Too hot and summer fun. Check back at the Open Houses page for upcoming tours! In the meantime, enjoy your summer!
